This Lent, use the See-Judge-Act method to reflect upon what world we are leaving behind. What world are we handing over to those still learning the basics of life? Regardless of age, you will leave a world behind and pass it on to another generation.
As someone who has spent a career in emerging tech and cyber, I know everything we do is tracked and stored. Massive data centers, both private and government, hold this information; if you haven't noticed, we are building more of them. Everything you delete is preserved somewhere in a data center. It's not as if they are reviewing all that data, but it exists if they want to "build a case."
Consider all the data breaches that have occurred over the past 20 years. Yes, all your information, everything about you, exists somewhere. Remember, it is most likely on the dark web linked to those data centers. Transferring that data takes place through the 35,000+ satellites orbiting the globe. Now, recall who the key player among those satellites is: yes, Musk.
This is all part of the new autonomous revolution we have entered. The societal phase change is not a distant event; it's happening now, unfolding at rates beyond most people's imagination, and we need to act swiftly to understand and adapt to it.
By 2035, the world will be less recognizable than it is today. The question will be whether it becomes a world of techno-feudalism or techno-emancipation. But remember, it's not all doom and gloom. There's a potential for positive change, and only we, the people, can decide, considering People, Planet, Purpose, and Prosperity for all, not just the few.
Reflect on the Meaning of the Medium, is the Message, Then reflect on the meaning of the Messenger, the Message.
Richard, thank you for sharing this reflection. It will make an excellent ROL (Review of Life) this Lent. I will let you know how it goes. Now we fast that we may feast.
